So lately I've had a situation on my hands about switching an order from Crunchyroll to HobbySearch.

It all went okish till it got to HobbySearch's end.

I couldn't manually combine the shipping option with the items..

so I emailed them the information, they said alright

I then couldn't see the items combined on my account...

I emailed them again to reassure a few things right when the last item came in stock for the shipment

Still couldn't see anything on my account so I calmed down

Then, my paypal was charged...

I emailed them right away asking for an invoice of the items

They emailed back with an invoice BUT also with this

"We are not supposed to send you an invoice when you have made payment
with PayPal Pre-Approved.
Anyway, we herewith attach a copy of the Bill of Payment which we will
enclose in your parcel; please refer to it"

Well then.. I've always received an invoice before they charge my paypal account. And it's always been that way...

I feel like I'm really bothering them but at the same time, I think this is what the customer service is here to do.

Do you always receive an invoice before they charge you? Do you ever feel guilty contacting the website?

there's a difference between invoice and receipt.
if you select manual paypal, they will send you an invoice of payment due.
you may have selected pre approved by mistake, they are not required to send you an invoice before hand, but they should've sent you a receipt afterwards (if you did not receive it), confirming that received your payment, and the following email would be shipment notification. or maybe they dont for the pre-approved.


Oh I might of been mistakened then o.o

But I never received a receipt. I usually do which includes the item worth and shipping worth. Usually right when they charge my pay-pal account.. But they never did, that's what I asked for it. I usually do receive one before I get the shipment confirmation... I guess it isn't my fault in this one, thank god

and no they don't sound annoyed, this is just a misunderstanding.

also, language and translation wise sometimes can sound curt.

i have been a customer of hobby search for a year, I place order and purchase almost every month or so, I have no complaints really, their self-service cancellation and monthly recombination is convenient.
theyre ok with adding in-stock item to your pre-order when your preorder became in stock.

but they are strict with the monthly thing.
once, the rest of the items in my current month combined order got moved to the next months, leaving one item to pay. i asked them if they could just put it together with the next month combination, it was almost end of the current month anyway. i understand why they cant, because there's a probability of next month orders getting pushed, and many hands in warehouse can make mistakes.

Never feel guilty. It's their job and if they don't like it they should get another job. Can't comment on the invoicing issue though. I've never purchased from them before.

I use manual payment since I have many cards linked to my pp account, and I rather pick which one to use at each time of the month :P So I always get an invoice. Still, they sound "annoyed"? There's quite a difference in between telling your customer "We are not supposed to send you an invoice if XX" and "Invoice are not sent when XXX". It's not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it.

I hope the whole thing is fixed;

Yeah i do feel a little guilty..

I bother nippon yasan a lot cause I myself make mistakes a lot ..
Or cause i moved out so new address i contact them to change the address

If its a mistake from their behalf i wouldnt feel guilty ..

I don't use the Pre-Approved method (I like the PayPal Express option because I like to pay manually), so I wouldn't be able to tell you if they usually send an invoice before charging Pre-Approved members.

However, you should never feel guilty contacting a website, especially if it is because you don't quite understand how a part of their site works. From my experience, their customer service is really nice.

After I placed my order at Hobby Search they sent to me an order confirmation per email.
Then I got the Paypal payment request email with a list of my ordered items and the shipping cost, because I didn't use their "PayPal Pre-Approved Payment" ! ;D
With the "PayPal Express Checkout" Option you receive at first the invoice and then your creditcard/bank account will be charged!!!

If I have questions about my orders I don't feel any GUILTY for contacting the online shop! ^___^
