Is it possible to have particular currency sales notification? Is it possible to have particular currency sales notification?

Hello,

As people tends to sell their figures within EU or USA, I was wondering if I only receive notification from specific region or currency. I live in EU and since buying outside EU require import taxes and many USA sellers only sell within country, it seems small but good tool to have. I will get email with figure I want gets excited to later see it sells only within USA. Since we have choice to select currency or region when searching in ads, I was wondering if there is similar thing for ads notification.
(If not, where can I put suggestion?)

Thanks

I'm not sure if such a feature exists, or where a suggestion to implement it would go.

I would like to state, though, that US sellers tend not to sell outside the US, only because the cost to ship outside the US is insanely high compared to most countries' cost to ship. Even to Canada and Mexico. In most cases, buyers can just get it from somewhere in Japan and ship it cheaper than a US seller can offer.

We're not snubbing the rest of the world or anything. No, honest! Really! We mean it this time! :P

Conclusion: Us sellers who have never done int. shipping are too scared or too lazy or the system is too complicated and that's why a lot avoid it.

It's the system. Our delightful United States Postal Service declares that anything that can not be bent (like most small items that people around here collect) must be shipped at the parcel rate, not the letter rate. Even if it's a small weight, it must be shipped as a parcel. That there's only one small part of the envelope contents that can not be bent is irrelevant.

As an example, a 5 gram (less than 1 ounce) envelope with something inside that can not be bent, being sent from the United States to Great Britian, will be sent at the package rate of $14. (currently roughly equal to 12 euros, or 11 GB pounds, or 1,560 yen) As the weight of the package rises, it goes up of course. It goes up a lot.

So unless it's a sticker or maybe a thin mousepad, we have to pay the parcel rate. So we have to charge you the parcel rate. Which only a madman would pay if they can it get from somewhere else. So most of us put in our ads 'US buyers only' to not waste your time and ours.

I think you actually want a particular 'country or countries' sales notification instead of a 'currency' sales notification.

Thanks, I just replied on thread. Hope they read it. ilasja (26日前) #37709309You can add this as a suggestion in the suggestions forum thread/4491 as I'm sure it would be super useful for people. Though I'm not sure if anyone on the mod team that is still around has the ability to add it, it's worth a shot.

Karumi (26日前) #37706120It has nothing to do with being "too scared or too lazy." What you are suggesting is not allowed. Only paper, stickers, a really small clear file/bromide, and maybe a mousepad if thin enough as WanderingWastrel mentioned, can be sent via letter. Post office will reject anything not completely flat to be sent as a letter. So it is not them being lazy or scared, rather it's you not knowing how stupidly stringent US international shipping rules are. These days I wonder if us or Australia has worse international rates...

I got the same kind of items(similar to paper) multiple times from Us sellers before(shipped as letter), but all of them were professional shops. So the items in my story are eligible for letter shipping for sure.

From my experience many Us sellers are pretty incompetent when it comes to shipping outside their country.
Small story:
I tried to order some very small stuff and the seller didn't offer international shipping. I messaged and asked if he can do it and told him to send it by letter and the cost is around a dollar. Well he agreed, but when I got the item a week later I see the shipping cost on the letter and it reads around 10 dollar. Some months later I found another item located in US. Because I felt sorry for the last person who paid a lot unnecessary extra costs I wanted to make sure this time he/she gets it right. Again I asked for international shipping by letter and told them the exact name of the shipping option. I also told them to make extra sure they don't take another option because it can get a lot more expensive and that had happened to me in a previous sale. I even told them that it's unnecessary to fill out a custom form and they can just send a plain letter. I was pretty confident that they understood this time. Again one week later I received my item and I was shocked that the poor soul had paid 13 dollars to ship my small flat item with 5 grams of weight. I don't know what is going on in these post office shops or what else leads to these results.

Conclusion: Us sellers who have never done int. shipping are too scared or too lazy or the system is too complicated and that's why a lot avoid it.
