wanting a statue.. but having no spacewanting a statue.. but having no space

recently I fell into the resin statue hell and got my first big statue last year in october. over my collection years I figured out that I like high quality figures and scales more in general, so I'm not really fond of price figures. I guess it was only a matter of time for me to get into resin statues XD

but well, mid last year I've been thinking about buying the TG statue by Figurama ITEM #657204 for so long and finally pulled the trigger and didn't regret it ever since. it's one of my fav figures I own and every time I look at it I'm amazed and stare at it a bit longer.

before I got the TG one I already ordered this beast of a statue. ITEM #747948 and I am SO HYPED for it.

followed by these 2 statues ITEM #815998 and ITEM #729621
I love them and I'm super happy to get them.

but now.. I have a "problem"
I finally finished HxH a few weeks ago and of course I knew about the HxH statue by Figurama ITEM #676015
as it was announced I had no freaking clue what was going on here of course, but now I know and fell in love with this piece.
the fight was amazing and Meruem is definitely one of my favs of the whole series.

was thinking about joining the waitlist and see if I can get it from Figurama but... I have no space for it.
I live with my family and only have one room - my bedroom - for all my figures and statues. it's not that big and I already got more shelves and a smaller wardrobe to have more space available for my figures and even that is almost not enough.

as much as I want the HxH statue, even if I can afford it, I simply can't get it due to lack of space and that's really sad for me.

of course I know it's stupid to be sad over something like this, but I can't help it. my friends are already annoyed of me.

that's everything of my personal rant. hope I don't annoy anyone here too :')

I think it's more common to not buy a figure bc of money, but did anyone ever had a similiar thing? feel free to drop it here.

thank you for reading. please stay safe and healthy and wash your hands!!

Those pieces are large, and especially with the elaborate bases, you can start to lose a lot of space very quickly (not to mention storing the boxes which tend to be super huge for protecting the resin lol).
From what I hear from collectors of such larger scales, they either have large houses with very large rooms dedicated to their collection. Or they rent a reasonably sized storage locker. Those who with storage option will keep most of their collection in storage, and rotate out what they display in their home when they get a chance to pay a visit to the storage (weekly, monthly etc). The third option is to sell one that you do not like as much anymore.
Oh yes the boxes are freaking huge! The box for the TG statue was already pretty big (and heavy!) and I know there are even bigger ones out there. luckily we have a attic where I can put all my boxes and store them.
most of my scales are 1/8, but I tend to like 1/7 and 1/6 more. especially those resin dioramas, they are great and I love that sometimes they show a certain scene.
rotating could be an option for me, but I'm not really a fan of packing and unpacking my figures/statues.

View spoilerHide spoilerBelle_Reve (2日前) #76954426I don't really consider where I'm going to put something when I preorder figures... it's something I keep telling myself I need to do, but still don't. I moved last year and was finally able to dedicate an entire room purely to my collection, but that filled up a long time ago lol. I usually rearrange things every time I get something new (like ITEM #835965 is in the mail rn and I have NO IDEA where I'm putting him) and at this point am just biding my time until we get a house next year.. in which case it's highly likely that the master bedroom will become the collection room haha I have a few figures I really NEED to have in my collection so I order them without thinking about where to put them. if it comes to other figures though, I think about what I already ordered and where I cna put it and then decide if I buy or not. well.. it's easier to squeeze in a 1/8 scale somewhere than a 1/6 resin diorama XD I already got more shelves and stuff for my wall to put more figures on display but sooner or later that'll be full as well.

I never buy stuff unless I'm sure 100% that I know where I'm going to display it. I have only one big statue (39kg) and that's my limit, I'm definitely not getting another one since I have no space to display another one. Yes, definitely. As I just said in the other reply, there are figures where I don't think about where to put them too much. of course it's something different with such a huge statue and I'm glad that I remind myself to think about it before putting myself on the waitlist and drop that much money if it converts. still sad that I can't get it, but maybe there's a chance in the future!

I am currently collection the Prime1 Studio Eva statues, at first I was only supposed to get the Eva-01 bust and the Eva-01 Diaroma... then I got the Eva-00 and now I have the Eva-02 and the upcoming "Iron-Man" Eva-01 in pre-order... not a single clue where I will be able to put them. Especially as the Eva statue are between 20Kg to 40Kg each with a 70x60cm base.
I also have the Figurama Hellsing, the Infinity Studio Eva-00 and I am on waitlist for one Witcher III Prime1 statue too.
oh well, I never thought I would drop so much money on one figure in the first place but look at me now XDD
hope you'll find a place to display them, 70x60cm is extremly huge! the AoT statue by Figurama is 73x70x61 cm and I'm hyped but also a bit scared XD but it'll look amazing.

I could fit all my figures in my current room. But I live alone and there's no way I'm going back to living with someone else anytime soon. I'm more so having a problem with the expansion and needing to buy more bookcases. For my F4F Bower though, I'm thinking about displaying him on the floor.
I've been thinking about moving out, but atm I don't have the right mindset for it and I think it would make everything a bit worse. I know one day I will move out, now is not the time though. having my own home full of stuff I love sounds amazing.
displaying on the floor is something new to me xD

View spoilerHide spoilerdtindcarea (2日前) #76954113Space is most definitely a consideration for me, but only after considering how much I like the figure and the cost. And, while larger figures can be difficult to display due to space issues, I'm at the point in terms of space where I need to cut back on my prize figure purchases to preserve space for my pre-ordered scales. I think every collector eventually runs out of space and either has to get more space or cut back on purchases / sell parts of their collection. I guess, depending on what and how much you collect, you definitely run out of space.
Usually I just buy figures of characters I really like (with a few exceptions^^) so I rarely sell stuff. but that also means I'm focused on less figures.
