Always a bummer when you make an order, you excitedly await it and hype it up, to then find out you more or less have been scammed and have to start a return process immediately. I'd say this is the second time I've gotten a figure that was falsely listed as new when it was actually used and not in great shape. (If we are talking strictly how many things I've had to return period oof it's a bunch) You could say the first warning sign was that is was considerably cheaper than other people sell it. But I gave the benefit of the doubt because sometimes people just want to sell things so they offer a good deal to make it quicker and more likely to happen.

ITEM #144366

I was really excited to have the legendary Tharja/Sallya figure. In a way it was also a gift as well as for me. The box didn't look super amazing but nothing I couldn't deal with. No negative ratings from the seller but not a ton of sales either. Maybe 50 or something. It arrived days later than it was supposed to (I can deal with that)

Box ended up being grimy. With more creases and damage than expected. No where in the listing did they really specify any of these issues. As well as having only 1 picture. But the lack of negative reviews made me feel like it'd be fine. I noticed a tear in a particular spot where I myself have done accidental small tearing.....from opening it. But this is "totally new" right? Ok whatever I can maybe deal with it but maybe ask for a partial refund because having to wipe grime off a box and undisclosed damage without warning is kinda lame. (People would rather waste your time in order to make a sale than be honest)

So I went to take off the tape that separates the plastic holding her which gave me another warning sign. It felt like...the tape strands were longer than figure companies normally do when using tape? Maybe weird but I have opened quite a few figures to know how it usually goes and this was weird.

She's out, still happy despite the issues, and then bam. Black mark on her face. The worst spot imaginable. "O-oh......ok..wow......maybe I can wipe it off.....;_;"

Nope. What a bummer. Kinda ruined my day (Not literally but was very :( today)

At least my Buro figure came in ok
- v -;

So sadly today doesn't seem to be the day I get Tharja. But maybe one day. It was still an honor to hold her for a second damaged or not ; v ;

Journal ranting aside, has anyone else dealt with similar things like being scammed or having information likely intentionally withheld? (In case anyone else feels like ranting)

7/1/2020 Edit: So looked into it, it seems like the dude is kind of....a self proclaimed proxy...?? Sorta. I don't wanna give too much info about then but basically it seems they don't really inspect what they sell. I may have used to word scam but actual "reason" this happened doesn't matter to me. I just don't like that I had to pay for something that someone resealed -shrug-

Nice. I used a black marker to fix a damaged bluray paper cover once. (You know how say a black paper outer layer of a thick paper rips and shows white underneath? Was one of those cases)

Asiendy8日前#79739142It happened not so long ago. I lurked for my grail for two years and finally, sparing money and find a "not too expensive" one.
Same as your case here, sold as a new sealed product, a lot of positive feedbacks and not a single négative one in the past 6 month.
So yeah, everything looked great and i feel like the time has come. I purchased it and waited for it reach my door.
Little surprise : it wasn't new at all :3
Some damage on the box which clearly has already been opened before. No authentification card, so no serial number aswell (wich is kinda sad for a limited product) BUT it's fine, the figure itself only has some minor paint transfert, hardly noticeable, and is obviously not a bootleg.

However you already said it seemed questionable, so why didn't you ask before the user shipped for extra pictures or the price, it's indeed very cheap so could've been bootleg so in that case I especially would have. But that's just me.. A spot could've happened during moving too tho had that with one fig I sold once..
Not saying it's good, but yeah :) maybe he didn't have ill intentions so I'd always communicate first instead of assuming the worst and say it's scam.. But yeah just ask money back if he doesn't respond.
Try cleaning her again, there are so many methods maybe another one works on her? Magic eraser, soft mild soap, regular eraser, scrubbing and what not..maybe she can be saved.

It wasnt a strong enough red flag. It was like 250. Ive sold things crazy cheap compared to others too. Tharja bootlegs are typically $50ish or under. I could tell it wasnt a bootleg by the picture available.

I still am pretty sure its a used figure given other signs. Like 99% sure. Maybe it was given to them by someone else. I dunno. But I am just monologuing in a jounal. To their face all I did was raise suspicion, showed the undisclosed damage, and asked for a refund.

Returning isnt an issue.

Edit: How can you not know a figure box has grime and weird oil all over it when you had to have handled the box to take a picture. I just cant get too into benfit of the doubt here theres too many weird things

Demigod_Dan9日前#79738909Sounds like it could be a bootleg? Lots of those going around for Tharja unfortunately. Better luck next time either way! :)

No. It was genuine. It was used and damaged
