Today’s review is a simple one, for a simple figure (toy) of Cure Moonlight from Heartcatch Pretty Cure in a Cure Doll form ITEM #46978 No special story behind this one this time, I got her because I wanted her and she was cheap and cute.
If you want figures off all the precures, the Cure Doll line is probably the best bet, as not all cures are popular enough for figures.

The design of the character is a bit aged down, with shorter hair and shirt, some of the character’s sharp bits are rounded off as well.

The sculpting isn’t bad, it’s just fit for a toy of this price range, her hair has sculpted strands, the details on her clothes are sculpted accurately, although interpreted in a more 2D, child friendly and chunky manner, the skirt on this figure is quite symmetric, while the skirt in the anime was more asymmetric. She has 2 holes in each foot, which seems like a stand could be plugged in there.

The paint is pretty average, nothing has big issues, a bit bleeding here and there, a few tiny paint bubbles on her hair. But, I’m glad her right hand glove has been sculpted on and not just painted on. One thing is that the dark purple paint on the ribbons of her boots stained the flesh skintone plastic a bit and the bottom of the boots are not completely painted.

The skin itself is a bit glossy, while there is a variety of finishes over the figure, a pearly finish on the white and light blue parts of her clothes, metallic on the metal part of her brooch, glossy on the boot ribbons and matte everywhere else. If not for me comparing with the photos of other users and getting it off Mandarake (I think), I’d have thought I got a bootleg, as the eyes do not look as nice as the product photo T_T

For posing, she can turn her head, although it is limited by her hair and sleeves, the arms can turn 180 degrees, and her legs (which are stuck together in one piece) have a hinge that can go forwards, but not backwards. She can stand on her own as well.

Overall, a cute but simple figure, not a must have, but nice to have for a fan of the character <3

On the shelf, she seems a bit lonely at the moment, well, we'll have more incarnations of her to keep her company soon <3
