Hmm.. Maybe you dhould show him first? Yeah it spoils the surprise but its better to have that then buy her and he ends up not liking her at all..

If he doesnt love figs but for example does love gaming yoy could buy a game related fig..

Tho my fiancee isnt a figure collector either, but i do know his triggers cause he loves anime and if the fig isnt overpriced and got a weapon he usually loves it or one of his fav hentai girls LOL i bought imari for him ^^ and i plan on giving him the RAH zelda. I know he loves it and he just found it too expensive but im atill getting him and enjoy him as well

Just make sure he likes her ;) and youre safe.. I did let my fiancee know beforehand cause i dont want to spend 130 euros on a RAH and he ending up not liking him

Just make sure youre not doing it to convince him but just to add a special fig for him in your own collection ^^

ponnie6年前#1882764It's just not worth the effort to give figures to people who do not value them. That's just my opinion. It hurts to see how something you carefully selected for someone special sits carelesly on the shelf and gathers dust.
Pretty much. Giving something this special to someone who doesn't appreciate it is a big waste of time and money.
Kitty2two6年前#1882333I've always looked onto figures in many ways. One simple way is, excuse my rudeness >.<, is actual cash if you take care of them. If in the future we need money, I would turn to my collection and only keep what is important and full of memories. But in a case where we REALLY need money for health or anything else important, I will sell them to help us. That includes this gift. It won't ever be a case of like me wanting a Gucci bag or something.
But also, if we break up, whatever he does with the figure is fine. If he breaks it, ouch. If he stores it away forever, aww. If he gives it away or sells it, good. At least the figure has a good home now.

Yes, they do equate to money at the end of the day (if the recipient doesn't value it as a gift from the person who gave it to them as a symbol of how they feel about them). But if someone turns around and sells it (and I'm NOT talking about after a breakup...I'm talking about while you're still dealing with them) , it is still very hurtful. Trust me, I've been there before.

So make sure your figure present will be appreciated the way any gorgeous figure should be ^^
And it's not just your brain trying to justify the spending, heh :P

Atheist16年前#1882267I just find it weird that you'd buy him a figure when he is not even a collector.
Of course he will treasure whatever you give him cos you're his gf, someone he loves. So why a figure?

See, when I see a figure, I think of it as a piece of artwork. All figures are breathtaking and I would love to have a whole house full of them to show off their beauty. He agrees with me on that point but he dislikes the constant expenses. He's more of a type to get just a few large pieces and be done with it forever. So that's why I found this figure to just be the one he would have forever(or as long as were together)

SpaceDyeVest6年前#1882121So, let's hope this guy appreciates it and it's a rewarding experience for both of them.

xCommando6年前#1881782A gift this special should always remind the person of the giver not just because they know who gave it to them, but because it has much thought and significance behind it. So in my opinion I think you chose a perfect gift, my only quarrel is it is a tad expensive. I always say go big or don't go at all though~

I agree...these types of gifts are very special. I have given figures as gifts only to have the person freaking SELL THEM to pay for future pre-orders. Because of that, I would never feel comfortable buying figures for anyone again...a lot of time, creativity and thought in picking them out, and, of course, money goes into such a gift. So, let's hope this guy appreciates it and it's a rewarding experience for both of them.

Riesz6年前#1881847She's a lovely figure but this Amiami listing is a preorder. The figure won't be released until June 2014!

She is just a gift, not a Christmas gift o.o

Kitty2two6年前#1881738Thing is, I love this figure but not enough to buy her for myself. I just don't like her in that way to own her. To be honest, I think he would appreciate her more then I would if I owned her. If I bought her for myself I probably would sell her quickly later on. If I bought her for my boyfriend, he would keep her forever since it was a gift from me to him~oh haha I didn't literally mean you were buyin it for yourself. I just meant like is something that he'd buy for himself if he had the money? Is it relevant to him? I love to say "if it's from you then I'm sure he'll love it", but I also don't know him personally and some of my friends are in relationships with some not so nice people lol. But if you really think he'll love it, then I'm happy that you found something for him. There's nothing worse than wanting to get a gift for someone but having no idea what to get them.
