Well hopefully things are better now... Sorry to hear. Keep snapping away friend, because the good thing about pics is they not only make you happy when you create them, they can make others happy too! :D

The technical aspects learned in classes just makes the already talented person better I think! For me though, Google is my friend! Hahaa!
:-P You're pics are great btw, so be proud!
It's 100% a hobby of mine as well... def no pro here either! Just a fellow hobbyist/enthusiast such as yourself! For me, making those pics is a huge stress reliever and good fun! :-D

Lilie (10ヶ月前) #28958132I really like your pictures, especially the ones that have a lot of effects! (i already subbed to your pictures btw)

Ah, well thanks so much, really glad you enjoy them!! They don't always come out as "fantastical" as what I'd pictured in my head (I may have just made that word up), lol, but oh well...even those were fun to make so not a total waste! Lol!

Really glad folks can enjoy them some too, so thanks a bunch! No worries either...half of my fun from doing these is from reinventing them in photoshop, so more to come!!

ONITAICHI (10ヶ月前) #28958783I'm no professional, nor great ability.
I just bought a camera to photograph, I do not have a course, and I learn everything in practice and in videos and in a Brazilian group of photography of figures on facebook.
do not overestimate me, because I'm just an ordinary person.
and I repeat, I like your photos, you're a master at editing. the best person in the edition!

Stacycmc (10ヶ月前) #28941039Oh no worries...I didn't mean it negatively nor was I in any way offended! :D I just know some of the ones I'm currently working on have pretty heavy editing, lol!
I don't always worry too much over the figure, versus the theme...I definitely have pics where that is without a doubt the focus, i.e. highlight the figure, but I also have pictures where the mood or situation may take precedence in my mind over the figure itself, as those pics aren't done with the intent of showcasing the figure, but rather using the figure as a tool to help set the stage.
I totally realize most on here probably prefer pictures that focus on the figures though (this is a figure site afterall :D), but I like to mix it up a bit, and some pics are literally just me fooling around and having fun with them, as I definitely agree they aren't going to end up on display in any art galleries!! LOL!
Anyway, thanks again though...very nice compliment, especially from someone as skilled as yourself! :D

I NEVER SAID THAT THERE ARE RULES ON HOW A FIGURES PHOTOGRAPH MUST BE.

DO NOT CONFUSE MY COMMENT!

I just think with less editing. the image is more pure, but it is only a personal opinion. Lilie (10ヶ月前) #28958587There's no rules that say this! You can for example have a figure that blends with a fitting background with some nice color theme to create an amazing atmospheric picture. Stop spreading your garbage "advice" when you know so little about photography and editing.

ONITAICHI (10ヶ月前) #28940583the highlight of the photo has to be the figure, not the issue.

I really like your pictures, especially the ones that have a lot of effects! (i already subbed to your pictures btw)

I have to say though that please don't listen to ONITAICHI advice, he doesn't know anything. Heavily edited pictures can be amazing when done correctly, it's all about your skills and creativity. If your goal for your pictures is to get to POTD as often as possible then sure go ahead and listen to these people.
But if you browse through their pictures you'll notice they all look the same generic pictures with the same formula. These people have developed a certain routine how they make their pictures and they're too scared to try something new and original or go wild with effects for example, because their audience might not like the picture or it might not get POTD. The question is do you want to be part of the generic masses or do you want your pictures to be original and stand out?

My advice is: continue what you're doing and continue learning and improving your skills. If you like heavily edited pictures and you get a awesome idea for picture, then go for it.

Most importantly you will develop your own style. And that means if i see your picture on the front page i know it's from you before i've even clicked the picture.
